Intensive Courses Available

At TX Driver Training, in Glasgow, we specialise in intensive driving courses. We understand that single driving lessons don't suit everyone's lifestyle or that you may prefer "to get it over and done with". Below we explain how intensive courses (or crash courses) work.  You can then decide if this is an appropriate way of learning for you.

Your intensive driving course will be conducted on a one-to-one basis (just you and your driving instructor in the car, except when your driving test is conducted and the driving examiner will be present). All your driving lessons and the driving test are conducted at the driving test centre nearest to your home address (unless a different test centre is requested). We will provide a dual controlled car, plus a fully qualified driving instructor registered with the Driving Standards Agency (DSA). On our weekly courses, all driving lessons run from Monday to Friday, with the driving test either on a Friday afternoon or a Saturday morning - whichever is available. Your intensive driving course can be conducted at the Glasgow Baillieston, Glasgow Shieldhall, Glasgow Anniesland, Glasgow Springburn, Paisley, Dumbarton, Hamilton, Airdrie or Lanark test centre. We can offer either a male or female instructor in a choice of a manual or automatic car.

N.B. All prices include theory and driving test.

The course includes a standard practical driving test only. If you require an extended test, the price will be increased by £62.00.

If you are unsure which intensive driving course is suitable, we can arrange an assessment lesson. Our driving instructor will take you out on a lesson to advise which course would be suited to your driving ability. The cost of this assessment is £20.00. Once an intensive driving course has been mutually agreed, the price of the assessment lesson will be deducted from the price of your intensive driving course.

Alternatively, we can offer a bespoke service.

On Courses A & E, please note that an hour is taken for lunch. On all courses, we reserve the right to withdraw the tuition vehicle if, in the instructor's opinion, you are not ready for a practical driving test. The test fee would be forfeited. We require a £150.00 deposit per course booked (this deposit is non-refundable). The deposit is deducted from the course price.

We would advise that intensive courses, by their nature, are not advisable to those who suffer badly with their nerves when under pressure.

Please be honest with past driving experience and ability when picking a course to suit you. If you have not reached test standard, you would not be able to take the test.

Your course can include a theory test, if required. All courses can be tailored to your needs.
